My dog is a Jack Russell Basenji Mix. He is my family, my pride and joy and it tears my heart out when he has a seizure, because there is nothing i can do for him and I feel helpless! Someone told me it was common for the Jack Russell to have seizures. If this is true, can someone tell me why? One vet told me he thought it was allergies and put my dog on a half a Benadryl. I've seen no difference with the Benadryl. I've even tried different dog food brands, but nothing has changed, he still has these type of seizures. I can't afford hundreds of dollars worth of tests to find the POSSIBLE cause. I've watched other video's of dog owners filming their beloved pets having seizures too. We all have something in common, we want to help our beloved pet. Episode...During a seizure (as you can see in my video) my dog's muscles tense up, then when he starts coming out of the seizure he looks disoriented and his eyes fixed and dilated, after the seizure he throws up. Which might suggest that he does get dizzy. I wanted to film him during a seizure and put it on Youtube for anyone out there that might have some knowledge about Seizures. The seizures last 2 to 5 minutes. Please help!! I hate seeing my little guy go through this.
